It was a soggy sort of day at Hermes Golf Course as the Links Golf Society teed off with high hopes and low clouds. Unfortunately, the weather gods had other plans — after nine holes, the heavens opened, and the back nine became more suitable for jet skis than golf carts.
Undeterred, the lads soldiered on, turning the day into a 9-hole sprint rather than a marathon. Leading the charge through the puddles was Dale Badger (17), who splashed his way to victory with an impressive 21 points — proving he’s as comfortable in a monsoon as he is on dry land.
In second place was Petur Peterson (7) with 17 points, looking remarkably composed for someone who nearly lost his ball — and his footing — on every tee box. Jim Muccino (7) rounded out the podium with 16 points, showing that consistency pays… especially when the course starts to resemble a rice field.
Speaking of Jim, he wasn’t done there — the man managed to snag both near pins, proving that even when it’s raining sideways, his iron play stays laser-sharp.
All in all, a wet but entertaining morning at Hermes. The Links lads may have been drenched, but spirits stayed high — and the clubhouse beers never tasted better.
