Crystal Bay Golf Course

The Links Golf Society Report – Crystal Bay

Today’s adventure took us to the much-maligned Crystal Bay Golf Course, where expectations were low but the banter was high. Surprisingly, the fairways were in fine nick, and the greens—while slow—rolled truer than a politician’s promise in election week.

We tackled courses C and A from the white tees, and although the course tried its best to redeem its reputation, a few of us still reckon the best thing about Crystal Bay is the drive home.

Results:
1️⃣ Grant Pride (8) – 34 points and a smug grin to match.
2️⃣ Kye Parkes (11) – 32 points on a countback, proving that consistency (and maybe a lucky bounce or two) pays.
3️⃣ Ron Harper (16) – 32 points, narrowly missing the silver but still happy his golf balls came home.

Near Pin:
🎯 Michael “Chappy” Chapman – C Course, 4th hole.
A cracking 3-iron to a back pin on the 179-yard par 3 — the kind of shot that makes you think, “Maybe I should’ve quit golf right after that.”

All in all, Crystal Bay put on a decent show… which, frankly, shocked most of us. Maybe next time we’ll even say something nice about it without laughing.
